Here is a tentative budget that will give you a good idea of costs:

Project fee:  $2,500 (or more - smile!)

Transportation from Airport to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye - roundtrip:

BY AIR - Maya Island Air:  $104US - You can make reservations on line at www.mayaislandair.com  Flight takes 15 minutes.

BY WATER - Water Taxi from Belize City:  $20US. Trip takes one and a half hours.  You'll need taxis from the Airport to the water taxi - cost $8US per person.  Contact: Philip Elliott for taxi reservations and Airport pickup at philstours@btl.net

Tips for Airport luggage handlers:  $2US per bag

Transportation to/from San Pedro Airfield to your hotel in San Pedro: $3US per person (check with hotel - they may provide this service) or you might be able to walk. From your hotel to the School - free!

Purified water at school:  $10US per person for the week

Food:  breakfast, snack and lunch at he School - $12US per person per day. Tips for the 4       School cooks are optional but much appreciated!  Allow $100US for the week.

Some hotels include breakfast with the room.  Snack and lunch at the school are $8US
per person per day.

Dinners in San Pedro: range from $8US to expensive depending on where you eat.  A tip of 10 to 15% tip is normal.  Check your bill - some restaurants add a service charge.

Souvenirs: Allow $50 to $100US per person

Airport Exit Tax - $35US per person, must be paid in US dollars.  If you fly from International Airport to San Pedro the exit tax is 75cents - bring lots of quarters - smile.
